1/2 oz American Gold Eagle MS-69 NGC (Random Year)
The half-ounce American Gold Eagle showcases some of the most celebrated imagery in United States coinage. On the obverse, a majestic figure of Lady Liberty strides forward, holding a glowing torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. This legendary illustration is adapted from the famous early twentieth-century Gold Double Eagle designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The reverse of the coin features a detailed family scene created by Miley Busiek. It depicts a male eagle in flight, carrying an olive branch to a nest where a female eagle and her young eaglets wait. This side also displays the traditional national mottos, including "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM," alongside the face value of 25 dollars. Struck from 0.9167 fine gold, these specimens are produced at the West Point Mint facility in New York. Individual examples may be certified in Mint State 69 (MS-69) condition, indicating a coin of exceptional preservation and near-perfect quality.
