1 oz Burnished American Gold Eagle MS-69 NGC (Random Year)
The burnished version of the United States fifty dollar gold piece offers a distinct visual texture that sets it apart from standard circulating issues. Struck at the West Point Mint in New York, these coins undergo a specialized burnishing process before they are minted, resulting in a unique matte appearance and a soft, elegant feel. Each coin contains one troy ounce of gold with a purity of 0.9167, and has been certified in an exceptional Mint State 69 condition. On the obverse, the design draws inspiration from the historic gold double eagle created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. It depicts Lady Liberty walking forward, holding a torch in one hand to light her way and an olive branch in the other as a symbol of peace. The background shows rays of light radiating outward, with the word LIBERTY and the year of issue clearly visible. The reverse side, designed by Miley Busiek, captures a detailed wildlife scene. A male eagle is depicted in flight, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle and their young eaglets wait. This side also features the national mottos IN GOD WE TRUST and E PLURIBUS UNUM, alongside the weight and face value inscriptions, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ. FINE GOLD, and 50 DOLLARS.
