1 oz Burnished American Gold Eagle MS-69 PCGS (Random Year)
The United States Mint produces a distinctive variation of its famous bullion series known as the burnished Gold Eagle. Struck at the West Point facility in New York, these particular coins undergo a specialized manufacturing process that gives them a unique appearance and texture, setting them apart from standard circulating issues. This specimen is certified in Mint State 69 condition, representing a nearly flawless strike that highlights the meticulous care taken during its creation. On the obverse, the design presents a legendary depiction of Lady Liberty. She stands majestically, holding a glowing torch in one hand to light the way and an olive branch in the other as a symbol of peace. This iconic image is adapted from the historic twentieth-century gold double eagle design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. The reverse side, created by artist Miley Busiek, captures a powerful family scene from nature. A male eagle is depicted in mid-flight, carrying an olive branch back to a nest where a female eagle and their young eaglets wait. This side also displays the face value of 50 dollars, the gold content of one troy ounce, and the traditional national mottos, "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "IN GOD WE TRUST."
