$10 Indian Gold Eagle MS-63 PCGS (Random)
Between the years 1907 and 1933, the United States minted a ten dollar gold piece that departed dramatically from traditional coinage designs. This historic issue, struck in 0.900 fine gold with a precious metal content of 0.4838 troy ounces, was produced at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mint facilities. Highly preserved examples of this series survive today with certified Mint State 63 grading, showcasing the intricate details of a bygone era of American coinage. The front of the coin presents a distinctive profile of Lady Liberty adorned with a Native American ceremonial war bonnet. Her hair band is inscribed with the word LIBERTY, and thirteen stars curve along the upper border to represent the original colonies, while the year of issue is positioned at the bottom. Rather than a standard flat or reeded edge, this coin features raised stars along its rim, adding a tactile and visual depth to its physical form. On the reverse side, a proud bald eagle stands as the central focus. The bird is surrounded by the country of origin, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, along with the traditional mottoes E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST. The face value of TEN DOLLARS is clearly displayed at the base, completing a design that remains one of the most celebrated and visually compelling chapters in United States numismatic history.
