The reverse side of the coin showcases a proud bald eagle standing amidst the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the face value of ten dollars. Adding to its distinctiveness, the edge of the coin is decorated with raised stars rather than standard reeding. These coins were produced across three different facilities, including the mints in Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco.
