Introduced in the early twentieth century, the ten dollar gold piece represents a distinctive era in American coinage. Struck between 1907 and 1933, these coins were produced across three different facilities, including Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco. Each coin contains 0.4838 troy ounces of gold, minted with a purity of 0.900, and is preserved in an exceptional certified grade of Mint State 65 (MS-65). The obverse presents a bold departure from traditional depictions, showing Lady Liberty adorned in a Native American war bonnet. Thirteen stars encircle this central figure, symbolizing the original colonies, while the word LIBERTY is clearly inscribed upon her headband. The year of mintage is positioned directly below the portrait. On the reverse, a proud bald eagle stands as the central focus. It is surrounded by the country of origin, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, alongside the traditional Latin motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the ten dollar denomination. Adding to the complexity of the design, the edge of the coin features raised stars instead of a standard reeded pattern.
