In the mid 1980s, production ceased on a distinctive silver bar that remains a fascinating study for enthusiasts today. Crafted by the renowned fabricator Engelhard, this ten ounce bar was produced as an exclusive commission for the Gold Standard Corporation. Experts estimate that only about 5,000 of these specific pieces were ever manufactured, making them a rare sight in the modern day. The front of the bar displays a carefully arranged layout of inscriptions. Contained within a stretched, eight sided polygon is the Gold Standard name, which sits above the details of its composition. The face of the bar clearly indicates its weight of 10 troy ounces and its high purity level of 0.999 fine silver. A unique serial number is also stamped onto the obverse, providing an individual identifier for each piece. In stark contrast to the detailed front, the reverse of the bar is entirely smooth and blank.
