10 oz Silver Bar - Oxford Mint

10.0000 troy oz .999 N/A

During the early 1970s, a distinctive piece of Alaskan history was cast in the form of precious metal. The Oxford Mint, operating out of Anchorage, Alaska, produced these ten-ounce silver bars, which are no longer in production today. This makes each surviving piece a fascinating artifact from a specific era of private minting in the far north. The obverse of the bar displays the essential details of its origin and composition. It features the Oxford Assaying name, alongside the weight of ten troy ounces and the purity of 0.999 fine silver. In contrast to the detailed front, the reverse of the bar is entirely blank, showcasing the raw, unadorned texture of the poured metal.
