Struck in the historic Casa de Moneda de Mexico in Mexico City, this 1769 silver coin represents a legendary era of global commerce. Containing 0.798 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.917, this 8 Reales denomination is a classic example of the famous Pillar Dollar series. It has been certified in Extra Fine-40 condition, preserving its intricate design details through centuries. The obverse of the coin displays a detailed crowned shield alongside the denomination and the assayer initials MF. On the reverse, the design features two crowned globes positioned between the Pillars of Hercules, which are wrapped in banners inscribed with the phrase Plus Ultra. The year of minting, 1769, is clearly visible at the bottom of the reverse design. This specific variety is cataloged as KM-105.
