1783 Washington Draped Bust XF
This copper cent from 1783 offers a fascinating look at early American iconography. Struck in copper, the piece has aged to a rich chocolate brown color, preserving its details in an extremely fine state of preservation. The obverse of the coin displays a left-facing portrait of George Washington. He is depicted wearing a military waistcoat and an olive wreath on his head, surrounded by the bold inscription WASHINGTON & INDEPENDENCE. On the reverse, the design features the figure of Liberty.
