0.0000 troy oz 1800 Very Fine - 35 (NGC)

At the turn of the nineteenth century, the United States Mint in Philadelphia produced a copper one-cent coin that is significantly larger than the pennies we carry today. This 1800 Large Cent represents the early years of American decimal coinage, struck in pure copper during a time when the young nation was establishing its identity and currency system. This particular specimen has survived more than two centuries, earning a certified grade of Very Fine 35 (VF-35) with a distinct brown designation. The surfaces have mellowed into a deep, warm chocolate tone over the generations, preserving the details of its early American design. The reverse of the coin features a classic wreath design enclosing the denomination. Legible portions of the reverse inscription display the words ONE CENT surrounded by the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, a proud declaration of a rising global republic.
