0.0000 troy oz 1828 Very Fine

In 1828, the Philadelphia Mint produced a striking copper coin that showcases the artistic transitions of early American money. This one cent piece, struck in pure copper, features the Classic Head of Liberty design on its obverse. Liberty is depicted facing right, surrounded by stars, with the date 1828 clearly visible below the bust, representing the large date variety of this year. The reverse of the coin is framed by the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA running along the outer border. Inside this circular inscription, a delicate wreath encircles the denomination, which is spelled out simply as ONE CENT. This particular specimen survives in a Very Fine state of preservation, allowing observers to appreciate the fine details of the engraving work originally crafted by John Reich.
