Struck in 1835 at the Philadelphia Mint, this silver half dollar belongs to the celebrated Capped Bust series, a cornerstone of early American coinage. Containing 0.3868 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.8924, this fifty-cent piece represents the monetary standards of the pre-1933 era. The coin survives in Very Fine condition, showing the moderate wear and preserved detail typical of a piece that actively circulated in the decade before the California Gold Rush.
