This particular coin survives in Very Good condition, showing honest wear from its time in circulation while retaining its essential design elements. The obverse of the coin features an intricate composition designed by James Longacre. A detailed shield is positioned at the center, flanked by a decorative wreath and crossed by two arrows. This design also marks the historic debut of the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" on circulating United States coinage, positioned on a ribbon draped above the shield.
