1871-1898 France Gold 20 Francs Lucky Angel BU
Struck in 0.900 fine gold, the French 20 Francs Lucky Angel coin is a celebrated piece of late nineteenth-century coinage. Minted between the years 1871 and 1898, each of these specimens contains 0.1867 troy ounces of gold and showcases the artistry of designer Augustin Dupré. The obverse of this gold coin displays a standing winged Genius captured in the act of writing on a tablet, symbolizing the drafting of the Constitution. Accompanying this central figure is a rooster standing to the right, while a fasces rests to the left. On the reverse, the coin's denomination of 20 Francs sits directly above the mintage date, framed elegantly by a wreath. The entire central design is encircled by the famous French national motto, "Liberté Égalité Fraternité."
