1875-CC $20 Liberty Gold Double Eagle AU-50 PCGS

0.9675 troy oz .900 1875 Almost Unc - 50 (PCGS)

In 1875, the Carson City Mint in Nevada struck a limited run of 111,151 gold double eagles, each carrying the distinct CC mint mark. These heavy gold pieces represent a fascinating era of American coinage, minted close to the silver and gold mines of the Comstock Lode. This particular specimen survives in an impressive state of preservation, certified in Almost Uncirculated 50 condition, retaining much of its original luster and detail from the day it left the coining press. The obverse features the classic Liberty design, surrounded by stars with the date 1875 anchored at the bottom. On the reverse, the heraldic eagle is flanked by the words IN GOD WE TRUST, with the denomination expressed as TWENTY D. at the base. Struck from 0.900 fine gold and containing nearly a full troy ounce of precious metal (0.9675 troy ounces), this coin is a heavy, tangible survivor of nineteenth-century Western history.
