1875 Indian Head Cent Good
Struck in 1875 at the Philadelphia Mint, this United States one-cent piece represents a classic era of American copper coinage. The coin is composed of a traditional alloy containing 95 percent copper, with the remaining 5 percent consisting of tin and zinc. Despite its age and survival in Good condition, the coin retains the essential elements that define this beloved series. The front of the coin features a stylized depiction of Liberty wearing an ornate native feather headdress, a design created by James B. Longacre. Surrounding this central figure is the date 1875. The reverse side displays the simple denomination of ONE CENT, which is framed elegantly inside a decorative wreath.
