1878-1904 Morgan Dollars MS-63 PCGS

0.7734 troy oz .900 MS-63 (PCGS)

The Morgan Silver Dollar stands as one of the most recognizable and celebrated pieces of United States coinage. Struck between the years 1878 and 1904, and once more in 1921, this substantial silver coin measures 38.1 millimeters in diameter and weighs approximately 26.73 grams. Crafted from 90 percent fine silver, each piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. These coins were produced at several different facilities, bearing mint marks for Philadelphia, Carson City, San Francisco, New Orleans, or Denver. Designed by George T. Morgan, the obverse of the coin presents a left-facing profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a classic Phrygian cap decorated with native American agricultural elements, specifically cotton and wheat, secured by a ribbon that displays the word LIBERTY. Surrounding her portrait are thirteen stars alongside the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The reverse side features a powerful heraldic eagle with its wings spread wide. In its talons, the eagle grasps both an olive branch and a bundle of arrows, symbolizing peace and readiness. A delicate laurel wreath frames the central eagle. The inscriptions on this side include the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, the country name UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the face value of ONE DOLLAR. This particular specimen has been certified by professional graders as Mint State 63 (MS-63), preserving its historic details for modern observers to appreciate.
