On the obverse, a profile of Liberty is shown wearing a Phrygian cap, with her name inscribed upon her hair band. This side is framed by thirteen stars, the year of minting, and the Latin motto meaning "Out of many, one." The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping both an olive branch and arrows in its talons.
