1878-1904 Morgan Silver Dollar BU (Cleaned, Random Year)

0.7734 troy oz .900 Uncirculated

The Morgan Silver Dollar stands as one of the most famous coins in American history, originally minted from 1878 to 1904, with a brief final appearance in 1921. Composed of 0.7734 ounces of pure silver, this coin is celebrated for introducing a distinctly American aesthetic to United States currency. On the obverse side, a left-facing profile of Lady Liberty is depicted. George T. Morgan designed this portrait using Anna Willess Williams as his model, marking a departure from traditional European-style depictions of Liberty. Her cap is decorated with native American agricultural elements, specifically wheat and cotton. The word LIBERTY is inscribed on her crown. The reverse side showcases a bald eagle designed with realistic proportions. The national bird is shown clutching an olive branch to represent peace, alongside a bundle of arrows to show a preparedness for defense. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, and the motto In God We Trust.
