The Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a testament to a pivotal moment in American monetary history. Its creation was prompted by the Bland-Allison Act in February 1878, which reinstated silver as legal tender. This legislation reversed the halt on silver dollar production that had been enacted by the Coinage Act of 1873.
