0.7734 troy oz .900 1878 Brilliant Unc

The year 1878 marked the beginning of a legendary era in American coinage with the introduction of the Morgan Dollar. Minted in San Francisco, this particular silver dollar remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of its original strike. Crafted from 0.900 fine silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Designed by George T. Morgan, the obverse of the coin presents a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap. This side is framed by the classic Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum", the 1878 date of issue, and thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The word "Liberty" is also inscribed upon her crown. On the reverse, a majestic bald eagle holds center stage, clutching an olive branch and arrows. The national motto "In God We Trust" is positioned above the eagle, while the inscriptions "United States of America" and the "One Dollar" denomination encircle the design. Just below the wreath, the "S" mint mark identifies its origin from the historic San Francisco Mint.
