0.7734 troy oz .900 1879 Brilliant Unc

The 1879 Morgan silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted in Philadelphia with a composition containing 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, this issue had an original production run of 14,806,000 pieces. This particular specimen survives in brilliant uncirculated condition, preserving the sharp details of its original engraving. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is adorned with a Phrygian cap, which displays the word Liberty along her hair band. Encircling this central image are thirteen stars, the year of issue 1879, and the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle clutching both an olive branch and a clutch of arrows in its talons. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions United States of America and One Dollar, along with the motto In God We Trust written in Gothic script.
