Struck in the late nineteenth century, the 1879-O Morgan Dollar stands as a remarkable example of American silver coinage. This particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showcasing the original luster and sharp details of its design. Composed of 90 percent silver and containing 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal, this dollar is a heavy, tactile link to a bygone era. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty. She wears a traditional Phrygian cap, a symbol of freedom, adorned with a hairband inscribed with the word "Liberty." Encircling this central image are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the year 1879, and the classic Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum." On the reverse, a majestic bald eagle is depicted with outstretched wings, grasping an olive branch of peace and arrows of strength in its talons. The eagle is surrounded by the inscriptions "United States of America" and "One Dollar," with the national motto "In God We Trust" positioned above its head. Beneath the eagle's tail feathers, the "O" mint mark proudly identifies this coin as a product of the historic New Orleans Mint.
