0.7734 troy oz .900 1879 Almost Unc

The 1879 Morgan silver dollar represents a classic era of American silver coinage. Struck in 90% fine silver, this particular piece contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Having achieved an Almost Uncirculated grade, the coin retains much of its original luster and detail from the day it left the coining press over a century ago. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is shown wearing a Phrygian cap, with her name inscribed clearly across her hair band. Surrounding her portrait are thirteen stars, the year 1879, and the traditional motto, E Pluribus Unum. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle clutching both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Above the eagle, the phrase In God We Trust is visible, while the words United States of America and One Dollar frame the central design. Collectors can locate the S mint mark, denoting its origin at the San Francisco Mint, positioned just below the eagle.
