0.7734 troy oz .900 1879 MS-64 (NGC)

Struck in the late nineteenth century, this 1879 silver dollar represents the classic artistry of the beloved Morgan series. Minted in San Francisco, the coin carries the 'S' mint mark, indicating its origin from the active West Coast facility. It is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.77344 troy ounces of the precious metal. The obverse presents a left-facing profile of Liberty. Her hair is adorned with a band inscribed with the word 'Liberty' and she wears a traditional Phrygian cap. Circling the portrait are the date 1879, thirteen stars, and the Latin motto 'E Pluribus Unum'. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with outspread wings, clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons. The patriotic motif is framed by the inscriptions 'United States of America' and 'One Dollar', with the phrase 'In God We Trust' positioned above the eagle. This specific specimen has been certified as Mint State 64, showcasing the preservation of its original mint luster and design details.
