This 1879 silver dollar stands as a remarkable survivor from the San Francisco Mint, showcasing the intricate artistry of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Its exceptional preservation has earned it a high grade of Mint State 67, highlighting the crispness of its original details just as they emerged from the coining press. The obverse features a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word "Liberty." Encircling this central portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the date 1879, and the classic Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum." The eagle is framed by the inscriptions "United States of America," "One Dollar," and the national motto "In God We Trust."
