The 1880 Indian Head Cent represents a classic era of United States minor coinage, struck in a metal composition of 95 percent copper, with the remaining 5 percent consisting of tin and zinc. This particular coin has been preserved in Very Fine condition, allowing observers to appreciate the finer details of its design that have survived through the decades. On the obverse, the design by James B. Longacre features Liberty wearing an stylized Native American feather headdress, surrounded by the legend of the issuing country.
