Struck in 1880, this historic silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted at the New Orleans facility, it carries the distinctive "O" mint mark positioned on the reverse side just above the denomination. The coin is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.77344 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse side presents a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap decorated with a band inscribed with the word "Liberty". Encircling her profile are thirteen stars, the year of issue 1880, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted holding an olive branch and a cluster of arrows in its talons. The inscriptions "United States of America", "One Dollar", and the national motto "In God We Trust" frame this patriotic image. This particular specimen has been certified in Mint State 62 (MS-62) condition, preserving the intricate details of its late nineteenth-century design.
