Struck in the year 1880 at the San Francisco Mint, this historic Morgan dollar is a remarkable example of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver and containing 0.77344 troy ounces of precious metal, the coin is preserved in a certified Mint State 63 condition, highlighting the fine details of its original production. The obverse side presents a left-facing portrait of Liberty, who wears a traditional Phrygian cap adorned with a band inscribed with the word LIBERTY. Encircling her likeness are thirteen stars, the year of issue, and the classic Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted holding both an olive branch and a cluster of arrows, representing peace and readiness. This central image is surrounded by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR, with the solemn phrase IN GOD WE TRUST positioned above the eagle. The small S mint mark is also visible, identifying its origin from the San Francisco facility.
