Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this 1880 silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. The Morgan Dollar series served as active currency in the United States for roughly eight decades, and this particular specimen has survived in an exceptional state of preservation, certified by graders at Mint State 65. On the obverse side, Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word "Liberty". This central portrait is encircled by the year 1880, thirteen stars, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". Crafted with 0.7734 troy ounces of silver at a purity of 0.900, the coin showcases the detailed artistry of late nineteenth-century engraving. The reverse side displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching both an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Surrounding this central motif are the inscriptions "United States of America", "One Dollar", and the national motto "In God We Trust". Just below the eagle, the "S" mint mark identifies its origin from the West Coast minting facility.
