The 1881-S Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a remarkable example of late nineteenth-century American coining, minted at the San Francisco facility. Containing 0.77344 troy ounces of 90 percent pure silver, this specific coin has achieved a Mint State 64 grade, further distinguished by its Deep Mirror Prooflike qualities, which create a striking contrast between the frosty details and the highly reflective, mirror-like fields. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word "Liberty." This side is framed by thirteen stars, the year 1881, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum." The reverse displays a bald eagle with outspread wings, grasping an olive branch and a clutch of arrows in its talons.
