The Carson City Mint produced some of the most famous silver coins in American history, including this 1882 Morgan Dollar. Struck with 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, this particular specimen has survived in remarkable condition, earning a certified grade of Mint State 63. The Morgan Dollar series as a whole served as a cornerstone of daily commerce, circulating throughout the nation for roughly 80 years. On the obverse side, a profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom. A band in her hair displays the word LIBERTY. The reverse side showcases a bald eagle, wings spread, clutching both an olive branch and a cluster of arrows to represent peace and readiness. Directly beneath the eagle and above the denomination, the famous CC mint mark identifies its origin at the Nevada branch mint.
