Struck in the late nineteenth century, this 1882 silver dollar represents a historic era of American minting from the Carson City facility in Nevada. Containing 0.77344 ounces of silver, this coin has survived the decades in choice condition, certified by professional graders at Mint State 63. Its preservation allows observers to appreciate the fine details of its design just as they emerged from the coin press. The obverse features a left-facing profile of Liberty, who wears a Phrygian cap adorned with a band inscribed with her name. Thirteen stars encircle the portrait, accompanied by the Latin phrase meaning out of many, one, and the 1882 year of issue. On the reverse, a bald eagle holds a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, symbolizing both strength and peace. This central image is framed by the inscriptions denoting the United States of America, the one dollar denomination, and the national motto.
