The 1882 Morgan silver dollar stands as a remarkable artifact from the frontier era, minted at the famous Carson City facility in Nevada. Struck from 90 percent silver with a total silver content of 0.7734 troy ounces, this coin is a testament to nineteenth-century American coinage. This specific piece has survived the decades in exceptional condition, earning a high grade of Mint State 66 (MS-66) and remaining housed in its historic General Services Administration (GSA) holder. On the obverse, the profile of Liberty faces left, adorned with a Phrygian cap that features the word "Liberty" inscribed upon her hair band. Surrounding this central figure are thirteen stars, the year 1882, and the classic Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". The reverse displays a proud bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping both an olive branch and arrows in its talons.
