The 1882-O Morgan silver dollar represents a fascinating survivor from a bygone era of American commerce. Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint, as indicated by the 'O' mint mark, this coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 90 percent. Remarkably, this piece remained in active circulation for approximately 80 years, carrying its history through decades of daily transactions before being preserved in its current Almost Uncirculated state. On the obverse side, the profile of Liberty is depicted wearing a traditional Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word 'Liberty'. This side also bears the classic motto 'E Pluribus Unum', the 1882 date of manufacture, and thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions 'United States of America' and 'One Dollar', alongside the national motto 'In God We Trust'.
