1882-O Morgan Dollar MS-62 PCGS

0.7734 troy oz .900 1882 MS-62 (PCGS)

The 1882 Morgan silver dollar stands as a classic artifact of late nineteenth-century American coinage. Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint, this piece carries the distinctive "O" mint mark on its reverse side, positioned just above the denomination. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900, the coin has been preserved and certified in Mint State 62 (MS-62) condition. On the obverse, the design presents a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, which displays the word "LIBERTY" across her hair band. Surrounding this central figure are thirteen stars, the 1882 year of issue, and the traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM." The reverse of the coin showcases a bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping arrows and an olive branch in its talons. This central image is accompanied by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR," alongside the national motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" positioned directly above the eagle.
