In 1882, the San Francisco Mint struck 1,125,000 of these impressive twenty dollar gold pieces. This specific coin has survived the decades in an exceptional state of preservation, certified as Mint State 62 (MS-62). Composed of 90 percent gold, it contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal, representing a substantial unit of currency from late nineteenth-century America. The obverse features the classic Liberty design, while the reverse displays the traditional heraldic eagle. The inscriptions include the country name, the denomination expressed as TWENTY DOLLARS, and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST.
