0.7734 troy oz .900 1882 MS-64 (PCGS)

In 1882, the San Francisco Mint produced a remarkable run of silver dollars under the legislative authority of the Bland-Allison Act of 1878. This particular specimen, certified in Mint State 64 (MS-64) condition, showcases the classic design created by George T. Morgan. Struck with 0.7734 troy ounces of pure silver, the coin has a total weight of 26.73 grams, a diameter of 38.1 mm, and a thickness of 3.1 mm. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap decorated with cotton and wheat, symbolizing American agricultural heritage. The year 1882 is struck at the bottom of the profile. On the reverse, an eagle with outstretched wings grasps arrows and an olive branch within a surrounding wreath. The 'S' mint mark is visible, indicating its origin from the San Francisco facility, which produced 9,250,000 of these silver dollars that year.
