0.7734 troy oz .900 1883 Brilliant Unc

Struck in Philadelphia during the late nineteenth century, this 1883 silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage. The piece is composed of 90 percent silver, containing 0.7734 troy ounces of the precious metal. Because it was produced at the main United States Mint facility, it does not bear a mint mark, distinguishing it from sister issues of the same year. The design, created by George T. Morgan, presents a left-facing portrait of Liberty on the obverse. She wears a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom, adorned with a band inscribed with the word Liberty. The reverse displays a majestic bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping both an olive branch of peace and a cluster of arrows, representing defense. Above the eagle, the national motto reads In God We Trust.
