Struck in 1883 at the historic New Orleans Mint, this Morgan silver dollar is a fascinating artifact from late nineteenth-century America. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900, the coin has been officially graded in Mint State 62, preserving the details of its iconic imagery for modern observers to appreciate. The front of the coin showcases a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap. A band in her hair displays the word "Liberty" clearly, while the surrounding rim is inscribed with the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum", thirteen stars representing the original colonies, and the 1883 year of manufacture. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons. This side of the coin features the inscriptions "United States of America", the denomination "One Dollar", and the national motto "In God We Trust".
