Minted at the historic New Orleans facility in 1883, the piece belongs to the celebrated Morgan Silver Dollar series. Out of a total mintage of 8,725,000 for this year and mint mark, this specific specimen has survived in a remarkable state of preservation, certified at a high-grade Mint State 64. The coin's physical specifications are standard for the series, measuring 38.1 millimeters in diameter and 3.1 millimeters in thickness. It is composed of 90 percent fine silver, which equates to exactly 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. On the obverse side, George T. Morgan's design showcases the profile of Lady Liberty. She wears a Phrygian cap decorated with cotton and wheat, symbolizing American agricultural heritage, with the year 1883 inscribed below. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread wide, holding an olive branch and arrows in its talons. The reverse also features the essential national inscriptions, including UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the face value of ONE DOLLAR.
