0.7734 troy oz .900 1883 MS-65 (NGC)

The 1883-O Morgan Silver Dollar stands as a remarkable survivor from a production run of 8,725,000 coins struck at the New Orleans Mint. This specific specimen has achieved a certified grade of Mint State 65 (MS-65), indicating a superb level of preservation that keeps its original design details incredibly sharp. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted. She wears a Phrygian cap, a traditional symbol of freedom, secured by a hair band inscribed with the word LIBERTY. The reverse displays a powerful bald eagle with its wings spread, grasping an olive branch of peace in one talon and a cluster of arrows in the other. Just beneath the eagle, above the face value of one dollar, the letter O indicates its origin from the historic New Orleans minting facility.
