The 1883-O Morgan Dollar represents a classic era of American silver coinage. Struck at the historic New Orleans Mint, this coin features the distinctive "O" mint mark on its reverse. The Morgan Dollar series as a whole circulated actively in American commerce for roughly 80 years, becoming one of the most recognized silver coins in the nation's history. On the obverse, Liberty is depicted facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap with her hair band displaying the word "LIBERTY." This side of the coin is framed by thirteen stars, the date of issue, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum." The coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 0.900. The reverse displays a bald eagle with its wings spread, clutching an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Surrounding the central eagle design are the inscriptions "United States of America," "One Dollar," and the national motto "In God We Trust." This particular specimen has been certified in an exceptional Mint State 66 condition, preserving its original design details and luster.
