1883-S Morgan Dollar BU

In 1883, the San Francisco Mint struck this silver coin, which remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. As part of a series that circulated as everyday currency for nearly eight decades, this dollar contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, minted with a purity of 90 percent. The obverse displays a profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hair band inscribed with the word LIBERTY. Surrounding her portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the year of manufacture, and the Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. On the reverse, a bald eagle holds both arrows and an olive branch in its talons. The eagle is framed by the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR, alongside the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. Just below the wreath on this side, the S mint mark indicates its origin from the West Coast minting facility.
