1884 Indian Head Cent Good+
The 1884 Indian Head Cent represents a classic era of United States minor coinage. Struck in Philadelphia, this one-cent piece is composed of a traditional bronze alloy, consisting of 95 percent copper with the remaining 5 percent made of tin and zinc. Despite its age, the essential design elements of this historic issue remain visible, carrying the honest wear of a coin that circulated widely in late nineteenth-century commerce. On the obverse, the coin displays a depiction of Liberty wearing a feather headdress, a design created by James B. Longacre. The legend showing the issuing nation surrounds the central figure, with the date 1884 positioned clearly at the bottom. The reverse features the denomination of the coin, rendered as "ONE CENT", nestled inside a decorative wreath.
