1884-O Morgan Dollar MS-66 PCGS

0.7734 troy oz .900 1884 MS-66 (PCGS)

This silver dollar, minted in 1884 at the New Orleans facility, showcases the classic design elements of a celebrated era in American coinage. Containing 0.7734 troy ounces of silver with a purity of 0.900, the coin is a remarkable survivor of late nineteenth-century manufacturing, preserved in a high certified grade of Mint State 66. The obverse features the profile of Liberty adorned with a Phrygian cap, her hair band clearly displaying the word "Liberty". Encircling this central portrait are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the year of manufacture, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted clutching both an olive branch and arrows, symbolizing peace and readiness. The eagle is framed by the inscriptions "United States of America", "One Dollar", and the national motto "In God We Trust". Directly above the denomination, the distinct "O" mint mark indicates its origin from the historic New Orleans Mint.
