0.7734 troy oz .900 1884 NGC

The 1884 Morgan silver dollar represents a classic era of American coinage, struck at the San Francisco Mint with a total production of 3,200,000 pieces. This particular specimen survives in About Uncirculated AU-55 condition, retaining much of its original luster and detail from the late nineteenth century. Composed of 90 percent silver, the coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap. Her hair band is inscribed with the word "Liberty", surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original colonies, the date 1884, and the Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum". On the reverse, a bald eagle holds an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Above the eagle, the motto "In God We Trust" appears in Gothic script. The legend "United States of America" and the denomination "One Dollar" encircle the central design, with the "S" mint mark of the San Francisco facility positioned just below the wreath.
