1885 Indian Head Cent XF
The 1885 Indian Head Cent represents a classic era of United States minor coinage. Struck in copper at the Philadelphia Mint, this one-cent piece showcases the artistic vision of James B. Longacre. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the fine details of its nineteenth-century craftsmanship. The obverse of the coin features a distinct depiction of Liberty wearing an Native American feathered headdress, surrounded by the bold inscription of the issuing nation. At the bottom of the design, the year 1885 is clearly visible. On the reverse, the face value of ONE CENT is framed elegantly inside a detailed wreath, completing a design that circulated widely during a transformational period in American history.
