0.7734 troy oz .900 1885 Almost Unc

Struck in 1885, this silver dollar represents a classic era of United States coinage. Minted in Philadelphia, the coin is composed of 90% silver, containing 0.7734 troy ounces of precious metal. Having survived more than a century in Almost Uncirculated condition, it retains much of its original luster and detail, offering a remarkable window into late nineteenth-century American history. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap, which is adorned with a band displaying the word "Liberty". Surrounding her profile are thirteen stars, representing the original colonies, along with the traditional Latin motto "E Pluribus Unum" and the 1885 year of issue. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted with its wings spread, clutching an olive branch of peace and a bundle of arrows symbolizing strength. This central motif is encircled by the inscriptions "United States of America" and "One Dollar", while the national motto "In God We Trust" is positioned above the eagle.
